Along the way, your expert outdoor guide will share with you their knowledge about the arctic nature, teach you some survival tips, how to use your surroundings to make a fire or for medicinal purposes, and offer you all their passion for Lapland.Īt some point, your guide will prepare an open fire (without matches or lighter!) and you will enjoy a delicious Finnish barbecue lunch. If you feel fit enough, your guide may take you even closer to the waterfalls so that you can really be at the bottom and touch them! Not everyone has this priviledge… Some of the most impressive frozen waterfalls are famous for ice-climbing, and you may spot some brave adventurers climbing the ice walls as you hiked along the canyon. The protected reserve also offers beautiful nature, picturesque snowy landscapes and …fun! The best way of going down is sometimes by sledding down the little slopes created by the path! Once arrived, you will start hiking down into the Korouoma canyon and get to the best spots to admire the frozen waterfalls. They will then drive you in the direction of the canyon and the pure nature reserve of Korouoma (one-way journey takes around 1h30). The trip departs from Rovaniemi where your outdoor guide will pick you up.
